International Human Rights Day Event in Miami
International Human Rights Day is fast approaching and members of the Eternal Vigilance Coalition will be engaged in activities around the world to celebrate human rights and demand that they be respected everywhere.
In Miami, members of the coalition will gather to focus on the plight of political prisoners in various countries and to denounce extrajudicial killings or summary executions of which there have been all too many in 2009. At this point friends from Belarus, Tibet, Venezuela, and Cuba have confirmed their participation. The event will take place on Thursday, December 10 at 11:00am Eastern Standard Time.
Those of you who would like to take part but cannot attend in person can still take part by a) making a video presentation [no longer than 10 minutes] and posting it on youtube for example or b)if you have skype, a camera and decent bandwidth we could set up a video conference link and carry you live.
Eternal Vigilance has set up a presence on Facebook, Twitter, and in the blogosphere providing news and information on the human rights situations in nations around the world. The Eternal Vigilance coalition needs a logo and concepts and ideas as well as designs are welcome.
The priority for the coalition is to compile lists of political prisoners and victims of extrajudicial executions or summary executions to be posted initially on the blog for December 10, 2009.
